Yogi Adityanath government to provide power to almost 2 cr houses by 2018, says Shrikant Sharma

In his tweet, Uttar Pradesh Minister Shrikant Sharma also said, “we have decided to give electricity on Diwali if it is being provided on Eid, there is no place of discrimination in Yogi’s government” (Twitter)

The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government aims to provide electricity to 1.86 crore houses across the state by October 2018. The government, which was formed after winning a huge mandate in 2017 Assembly elections in UP, is also working to end power theft in the state. For this, the government is set to run a campaign from June 15 under which strict action will be taken against those who are involved in power theft. The information was shared by UP Cabinet Minister and Mathura MLA Shrikant Sharma on his Twitter account. The minister made a series of tweets on Tuesday mentioning the decisions taken by the government to provide uninterrupted electricity in the state.

The minister mentioned the work done by the government in providing electricity. Saying that the BJP government inherited a virtually non-working power infrastructure, Sharma said that CM Adityanath has ordered officials to provide electricity for 18 hours in villages, 20 hours in Tehsils and 24 hours in districts, which has been implemented, Sharma said in his tweet.

In his tweet, Sharma also said, “we have decided to give electricity on Diwali if it is being provided on Eid, there is no place of discrimination in Yogi’s government” (Humne Eid Mein Bijli Mile To Diwali Mein Bhi Mile Yeh Tay Kiya, Yogi Sarkar Mein Bhedbhav Ki Koi Jagah Nahin). The minister further said that for this government, the VIPs are ‘Ramlala Hain, Dwarkadhish Hain, Gorakhnath Hain, Bhagwan Vishwanath Hain, Gaon Ke Gareeb Aur Kisan Hain’.

However, while indicating what steps the government is taking to solve the power problems that the public faces, Sharma did not miss a chance to taunt the former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav who had famously replied to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s jibe during campaigning for the assembly elections that the question of whether power is available or not can easily be answered simply by touching the wires. The minister posted a tweet saying “now there is no need to touch a wire to know whether it has power or not” (Ab Taar Mein Bijli Hain Ya Nahin, Yeh Janane Ke Liye Kisi Sanyaasi Ko Taar Chhune Ki Avashyakta Nahin Hai)
