was a "healthy scratch" from the lineup about a half-hour before the team’s game Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Frazier has been the subject of trade rumors as the July 31 deadline approaches.

He was replaced in the lineup by Yolmer Sanchez.

The White Sox will try to slow down Clayton Kershaw in the opener of a two-game series at Guaranteed Rate Field.

The Dodgers are looking for their 10th straight victory, and Kershaw has earned the win in each of his last seven starts. He enters his first career appearance on the South Side 14-2 with a 2.18 ERA.

Miguel Gonzalez made his first start since June 14 because of a right-shoulder injury.

The Dodgers, his favorite team growing up, gave him a rude welcome back in the first.

Chris Taylor led off with an infield single, stole second and scored on Cody Bellinger’s single to make it 1-0 in the first.

A walk to Logan Forsythe loaded the bases with one out before Joc Pederson hit into a double play.

On the mound

Sox right-hander Miguel Gonzalez returns from the disabled list after recovering from AC joint inflammation in his right shoulder. It will be his first start since June 14, and he’s searching for his first win since May 28.

Gonzalez was 4-8 with a 5.15 ERA entering Tuesday.

The quote

“He attacks the strike zone, so we have to be ready. If we get our pitch, we can’t miss it. We have to be able to maximize what we’re capable of doing. This guy really commands the zone, and his breaking ball has a tremendous bite. It’s kind of tough to lay off of him. Most of the clubs he has been facing have been having a tough time laying off the hard breaking pitches he throws. He commands the outer part of the plate with his fastball, works both sides of the plate well. We’ll just have to see if we can catch some balls out over the plate and see what we can do.” –Sox manager Rick Renteria on Kershaw
