C2E2 2017 set to bring geeky fun to Chicago this weekend

From its start in 2010 with around 27,000 attendees to last year’s record breaking event with over 75,000 people packing the South Building at McCormick Place, the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (or C2E2, for short) has been one of the premier comic book conventions on the East Coast. This weekend, the popular convention comes back for its 2017 installment, and there will be even more people in line to catch their favorite stars and pick up some exclusive swag.

The Spotlight Guests section include some of the biggest names in comic books today, including Amy Chu, Frank Miller, Monica Gallagher, Rob Liefeld, Charles Soule, and Bob Camp. When it comes to entertainment guests, C2E2 has you covered with Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Elizabeth Henstridge and Iain De Caestecker, voice actor Troy Baker, comic book icon Stan Lee, former WWE Divas Champion AJ Mendez Brooks, and Harry Potter actress Evanna Lynch. A full list of guests can be viewed here.

What’s a comic book convention without some exclusives on the show floor? There’s a bevy of them waiting for your cash, including Zenescope Entertainment’s UnHoly 5 postcard exclusives (limited to 250 copies), Bob The Artist’s Luke Cage Con-Exclusive (limited to 70 copies), Joel Siegel’s Stranger Things Eggo sticker, and Neil Adams’ Star Wars #1 Kylo Ren variant cover (limited to 100 copies).

Three-day and single-day tickets are still on sale right now. While the Frank Miller VIP packages are completely sold out, you can still purchase the VIP Extreme Liefeld Package, which includes two signed exclusive Deadpool & X-Men comics from Rob Liefeld Creations Collection, a Deadpool print, a photo with Rob Liefeld, and an autograph from the iconic comic book creator. You must already have a ticket for C2E2 in order to use this VIP package. Children ages five and under can get into the event for free with an accompanying parent. Children ages six to 12 must purchase a Kids Day ticket in order to attend.

You can follow the convention on Facebook and Twitter for any updates. If you can’t make it, the event will be streaming on their Twitch channels.
